Lake Superior Voyageur Canoe
Spend 7 days paddling between isolated islands on the North Western shore of one of the largest freshwater bodies of water in the world! The route from the remote community of Rossport extends westwards through Lake Superior’s Sibley Island archipelago, a chain of scenic, semi-mountainous islands complete with agates, lighthouses and wilderness saunas. Fascinating flora and fauna, wondrous geology, crystal clear waters and protected wilderness stretch as far as the eye can see. It’s all part of Canada’s newest National Marine Conservation Reserve.
Who: This trip is open to any young adult cancer survivors diagnosed and currently between the ages of 18 and 39ish (and one of their supporters).
What/Where: The most incredible 7 days paddling through northwestern Lake Superior’s island archipelago, with some awesome young adult cancer survivors.
When: July 28 – August 3, 2018 (Arrive in Thunder Bay by 11am on the 28th, fly home anytime on August 4th)
Cost: The cost of the trip is $800 and includes all food, equipment, guides and transportation to and from the Thunder Bay, ON airport (retail the trip cost of the trip is much more then that!). However, we do not want cost to be a barrier and can help you raise funds or have someone sponsor you to come. Please indicate on the application form that you will need help with fundraising.
